Iran’s Persecuted Christians Endure New Wave of Government Crackdowns

10/28/2016 Iran (International Christian Concern) Iran currently ranks very high (number 9) on Open Door’s World Watch List, making it one of the worst places in terms of the persecution of Christians. Christians, as well as other religious minorities, have continued to suffer greater persecution since the 1979 revolution. House churches are seen as threats to national security as they are looked at as being supported by “enemies abroad.” This year, the number of Iranian Christian arrests grew rapidly, some taken from family picnics and others during house raids. Let’s pray… Pray that persecuted Christians would not lose their faith in Christ during such trying times. Pray that persecuted Christians would know, personally, that God’s promise to never leave them or forsake them remains true throughout all circumstances – pray that they would know God’s presence. Pray that this growing awareness of persecution in Iran would cause others to act on behalf of the persecuted.
