Uganda Christian Convert Couple Slain for their Faith

2 /16/2024  Uganda   (Morning Star News) A formerly Muslim couple in eastern Uganda, parents of four young children, were slashed to death in early February, two months after putting their faith in Christ. Twaha Namwoyo, 38, and his wife, Nadiimu Katooko, 27, were slain for their faith outside their house. Police officers arrived and found the bodies with deep cuts, and that of Namwoyo with a swollen neck, possibly indicating strangulation. Their mutilated bodies were found outside, and the children – ages 7, 5, 3 and 2 – were locked inside the house. Police found several long Somali swords, knives and an axe at the scene, likely left as a warning to other Muslims considering conversion to Christianity. The attack was the latest of many instances of persecution of Christians in eastern Uganda.  Please pray… Pray Pray that the Lord will comfort the couple’s children and heal them of the emotional trauma they have experienced. Pray that the Lord will provide a loving Christian home for the children. Pray that the police will diligently investigate the attack and be able to find the attackers.

Supreme Court Issues Rebuke over Poor Handling of Attacks on Christians

2/14/2024 Pakistan (Morning Star News) Pakistan’s Supreme Court reprimanded the Punjab Province government over its progress report on anti-Christian attacks in August last year, terming it “worthy of being thrown into the dustbin.” The attacks left multiple churches and homes of Christians ransacked and burned after two Christians were falsely accused of desecrating the Quran. Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa said that he felt ashamed after seeing report. Isa noted that the report lacked relevant information such as the registration of FIRs in regard to offenses, the number of suspects named, the status of the cases, names of the relevant courts where cases were pending and the progress made so far. He said it appeared that the police and Punjab government were not interested in punishing the culprits. Isa ordered the Punjab Police to conduct a new and thorough investigation and to ensure prosecution of the accused, warning that officials would be suspended if they failed to yield results. He also directed the Punjab government to submit a report on the progress of the reconstruction work on church buildings and compensation paid to victims. The court added that all citizens deserve to be treated equally. Please pray… Praise the Lord […]

SD Cards, Daughter’s Healing Bring Family to Faith in Nepal

2/1/2024 Nepal (VOM) When Manju’s husband became a follower of Christ, Manju and their children were very opposed to his faith and berated him to abandon it. But in May 2023, a pastor asked her to watch a film about Jesus. He installed a memory card with several videos on her phone. The family began to watch these films, calling the pastor to explain parts they did not understand. Manju invited the pastor to her house one day. While he was there, 14-year-old Sharda was watching one of the videos by herself when she experienced a demonic attack. When the pastor prayed for her, the attack ended. These attacks happened several more times, and each ended only when the pastor prayed. Sharda is now completely healed. Manju and her children placed their trust in Christ after witnessing God’s power in Sharda’s healing. Seven other relatives have also placed their trust in Christ since then.   Let’s pray… Praise the Lord for Manju’s husband’s faithful witness and for the salvation of Manju and her children, and for delivering Sharda from demonic oppression.
