Nigeria Leah Shirabu Still Being Held Captive, Has Second Child

6/2/2021 Hakugai.org editors On February 19, 2018, Boko Haram abducted 110 female students aged between 11 and 19 from the Government Girls Science and Technical College in Yobe State. Five of the girls died, but after a negotiated settlement between the government and Boko Haram, 103 girls were released. Leah Sharibu, a teenage Christian who chose to remain true to her faith and refused to convert to Islam, however, was not released. She was 15. She is now 18, and on March 23, the insurgents informed the world that Leah had given birth to her second child, fathered by one of her captors. The Nigerian government is doing nothing, it seems, to obtain her release from Boko Haram.   Please pray…  Pray that the Lord would comfort Leah with His presence in the midst of her captivity and help her to not lose hope of release. Pray that the government will sincerely work to negotiate Leah’s release or to search for her and rescue her. Pray that the Lord would comfort her parents, relatives and friends who have been praying and waiting for over three years for her to return home safely.
