Dozens of Christians Kidnapped in Separate Attacks in Southwest Nigeria

Nigeria flag12/1/2022 Nigeria (Morning Star News)

Suspected Fulani terrorists in southwestern Nigeria kidnapped Christian workers taking a bus to a wedding, while another group of Christians was kidnapped en route to a funeral in the same state. Five captives escaped after they were taken off the bus going to the funeral, but 43 remain in captivity. On the same day, Fulani also kidnapped 23 workers from a Christian ministry in Benue state on their way to a wedding. Police and local searchers found and rescued 14 of the captives from the wilderness. In addition to these recent kidnappings, at least 30 other Christians have been murdered or kidnapped in the past month in Nigeria. The Muslim Fulani are committing more and more murders and abductions, but the Nigerian government is still doing nothing to protect its Christian citizens or to arrest and prosecute the Muslim terrorists.

Please pray …

  • Pray for the Lord’s comfort for the relatives of those who are being held captive.
  • Pray that the Lord’s presence will be felt by kidnapped believers, and that they will be released or rescued.
  • President Muhammadu Buhari, a Fulani Muslim, will be stepping down next spring. Pray that the people will elect a new president who will protect all citizens.
