Hundreds of Christians Slain in Plateau State, Nigeria

Nigeria flag6/7/2023 Nigeria (Morning Star News)

Since mid-May, Fulani terrorists have killed 300 Christians, displaced 30,000 residents, destroyed 28 church buildings and 2,000 houses and looted 150 trailer loads of grains in Plateau state. The majority of those killed were women and children. Christians who survived the attacks have been displaced. The recent change in government has not led to any noticeable difference in what the central government is doing to protect Christians or seek to arrest and prosecute the Muslims who continue to kill and kidnap Christians, steal their land, and destroy their homes and churches. Nigeria led the world in Christians killed for their faith in 2022, with over 5,000, and it also led the world in Christians abducted (4,726), sexually assaulted or harassed, forcibly married or physically or mentally abused. As in 2021, Nigeria had the second most church attacks and internally displaced people.

Please pray …

  • Pray that the Lord will protect and strengthen comfort Nigeria’s Christians in the midst of such long suffering, and that He will comfort, encourage, and help those who have lost loved ones, been seriously injured, and had their homes destroyed.
  • Pray that the Lord will convict these terrorists of their sin, visiting them in dreams and visions and drawing them to Himself.
  • Pray that the new president of Nigeria will do much more than the previous president to protect Nigeria’s Christians and stop these attacks by Muslim terrorists.
