Government Rhetoric Increases Challenges Facing Turkish Christians

In Turkey, Turks who belong to religious minority groups are treated as second-class citizens. The state’s hostile treatment of Christians has increased much as President Erdogan, whose family belongs to the conservative religious class, consolidates power. On June 24, he was reelected in snap elections that approved a constitutional change that gives Erdogan and his AKP party even more power, and ten more years as president. There is an incredible amount of prejudice against Christians right now, and the country is becoming more and more Islamist.

- Pray that the Christians in Turkey will be strengthened and encouraged by the Lord.
- Pray that those who suffer persecution will be able to stand firm in their faith and trust the Lord.
- Pray for Lord to touch the hearts of many Turks through dreams and visions and draw them to Himself.
