Uganda　Family Sprayed with Acid for Leaving Islam

Upset over conversions to Christianity, hardline Muslims in an area of eastern Uganda this month sprayed a newly Christian family with acid. Muslim relatives recently sprayed acid on Juma, 38, his 32-year-old wife Nasimu, and their 13-year-old daughter, Amina after they put their faith in Christ in February. When they refused to recant their faith in Jesus when pressured by relatives, they started beating them with sticks as prescribed in the Koran, and Nasimu’s father picked up a bottle of acid and began spraying it on them while the group started shouting, “Allahu Akbar, you deserve death.” They were then disowned by their family. On March 9, while the three were receiving hospital treatment, their house was burned down. They are still undergoing hospital treatment.

• Pray that the Lord will provide the finances they need for their medical treatment.
• Pray that the Lord will provide a safe place for them to live after they get out of the hospital.
