An 18-year-old Catholic woman in Pakistan said police have refused to arrest a Muslim who abducted and raped her at gunpoint. Imaan Khurrum told a Christian news channel on YouTube that she was returning home from the shoe factory where she worked when Ansar Shah abducted, tortured and raped her after pulling out a pistol and threatening her and her two younger brothers. Shah had been harassing her for months on her way to work. Despite repeated pleas to police, officers have not arrested the suspect. Shah’s relatives were using various tactics to pressure her family to withdraw the First Information Report, and that police inaction indicated Shah’s family has influenced officersfriends.

Pray for the Lord to comfort and heal Imaan of the emotional and physical trauma of the rape.
Pray that news of the attack and lack of police response will spread and the national government will take action to arrest and prosecute Shah.
Pray for the Lord’s protection for Imaan and her family as they are being pressured and threatened by Shah’s relatives
