A Catholic couple in Pakistan received the best Christmas gift they could imagine this week – the return of their kidnapped daughter after she escaped from a Muslim who forcibly converted and married her. Muskan Salman, 15, was abducted from her home in March. Her devout Catholic family was devastated to learn that a Muslim man, Arsalan Ali, had forcibly converted her to Islam and married her against her will. Muskan was coerced into declaring that she was 19 years old and that she had converted to Islam and married Ali of her own free will. Ali forcibly converted Muskan to Islam and forged a marriage certificate. Muskan escaped from Ali on Dec. 15 and showed up at her home. Ali and his accomplices started searching for Muskan soon after she went missing, but fortunately, Muskan’s father knows a senior police officer who promised to help the family get safe passage out of the area. A Christian lawyer helped Muskan submit a signed statement saying that she was forced to lie about her conversion and desire to marry Ali. The recovery of Muskan gives hope to other families who have lost daughters and wives to kidnapping and forced conversion/marriage.

Praise the Lord for the safe return of Muskan to her family and the help they received from the senior police officer and Christian lawyer.
Pray that the Lord will help Muskan heal from the trauma she experienced and that she will be able to return to a normal life with her family.
Pray that others girls and young women who have been kidnapped and forcibly converted and married will be able to escape their captors.
